TESTING PLAN |
Testing plan is divided into following types of tests. |
Routine tests |
To be carried out by the manufacturer on all the units, for which a routine test certificate will be supplied. |
Acceptance tests |
To be carried out on some reactors, the number of which is to be decided between the customer and the manufacturer mutually. |

B |
Measurement of winding resistance |

C |
Measurement of Impendance at the continuously rated current. |
D |
Measurement of load losses at continuously rated current. |
E |
Separate source one minute withstand test between live parts and the body An A.C. voltage will be applied as per table below between all the terminals together and body for the period of 1 minute. The capacitor will withstand this test. |

F |
Measurement of Insulation Resistance. If these tests are carried out at room temperature, the results will be corrected for the actual stablised temperature while carrying the continuously rated current. |
G |
Impulse withstand test. (As per Table) The impulse voltage will be applied between terminals and the earthed tank, as per IS-5553. Five impulses of each polarity will be applied and the performance will be observed or recorded on an oscilloscope. Normally a winding, subjected to an impulse test will not be rejected. |

Temperature Rise Tests : The oil filled series reactors, offered, fall under the ON category. (Oil immersed- naturally cooled) The temperature rise test shall be continued until it is possible to determine the final temperature that would be attained if the tests were continued until a steady temperature and thermal equilibrium were reached. The final temperature rise on oil with a thermometer in a pocket on top, will not exceed 45 degree C at the rated current as per IS- 2026, the temperature rise as measured by the winding resistance will not exceed 55 degree C at the rated current. The latter applies to dry type series reactors also. |
| I |
Short Circuit Tests : We have no facilities to offer short circuit tests. However, the maximum current density calculated under short circuit conditions will not exceed the value given in the ISS for current transformers. |
Acceptance tests |
All the routine tests are offered as acceptance tests. |
