Each basic unit is built with a number of elements. These elements are wound with layers of electrical grade bi-axially oriented polypropylene film and a high purity aluminium foil. The end edges of opposite aluminium foils are brought out. These are soldered together in a group and a lead wire is attached The leads are connected to the external terminals in a series parallel connection to form a single phase or a three phase unit. There are internal fuses for individual elements in internally fused capacitors. The element assemblies are given adequate outside insulation. They are put in all welded M. S. containers. These containers are surface treated so as to make them rust free. Tops are welded on to these containers. The containers are put in a vacuum chamber where they are simultaneously heated, dried and degassed so as to obtain very high vacuums. While they are still under vacuum, they are impregnated with special grade capacitor oil, which is bio-degradable. This oil constitutes no hazard to environments. The impregnated units are taken out, sealed and tested. They are then degreased and painted. The painting system consists of phosphetising, primer coat and two coats of enamel paint. Externally each unit has two separate earthing points and a name plate confirming to the requirement of IS 2834. We can supply at an extra costs, individual HRC fuses on each unit. These units could be with two or three bushings with the MS container at earth potential OR These units could be of single bushing with a stud on the container forming other terminal. In this case the capacitor units are mounted on post insulators or in tiers which in turn are mounted on support insulator. |
