The energy storage capacitor consists of aluminium foil as conductor with insulating material such as heavy-duty condenser tissue paper or plastic film or both as dielectric. Extended foil construction is used. Dry, degassed oil under vacuum is used as impregnant. Caster oil is ideal for fast discharge and high voltages. PXE-Phynyle Xylyl Ethane replaces this when low loss angles are required. We offer both the alternatives. The capacitor normally has a single bushing with body acting as a second terminal. However, where specified, two bushings are also supplied. Upto 25kV ratings, we supply minimum stem, epoxy cast bushings with horizontal petticoats. For higher voltages, we give porcelain bushings. If specified, we offer co-axial cable for voltages upto 15kV. The housing generally is made up of M. S. It could be of non-magnetic stainless steel or plastic where exceptionally low internal inductance's are required. For very high voltages, we offer porcelain or FRP housing with an end connection at each end. These units are hermetically sealed and unless otherwise confirmed, are of indoor type- suitable for an ambient of 40 Degree C. The capacitors have no internal fuses. They have no internal or external discharge resistance's. Very important considerations in energy storage capacitor design and manufacturing are life expectancy and performance desired. In view of the today's high energy applications great design efforts have been expended to provide heavy discharge current capacity and to keep internal inductance and resistance to absolute minimum. Highest-grade material is used for long life and reliable operation. Winding operations are performed by skilled operators on modern machines in dust-free environment, Infinite care is taken in processing and impregnating the capacitors to assure a uniform product free of contamination's. Continuous monitoring, drying and impregnation cycles and rigid quality control standards insure that each capacitor will perform to its full rating. We offer three standard types of energy storage capacitors to meet a variety of applications. |
