GENERAL APPLICATIONS |
The capacitor is the most important storage reservoir for electrical energy. In pulse power applications, it is discharged at a high rate into the consumer circuit to produce a quick flow of energy. |

Group I : |
These are capacitors featuring small size, low voltage (upto 15kV), low energy (upto 1KJ) but very high energy density. They are used in applications where rugged, reliable and compact unit is required such as medical defibrillators, pumping small lasers, flash lamp applications, etc. In this category, polystyrene film is impregnated with suitable condensor oil. We offer both cylindrical and flat type units. Its inductance is very low, below 10nH for voltage upto 5kV. For voltages from 5KV to 15KV, it is less than 20nH. |

Group II : |
High voltage (upto 5okV), high-energy (upto 3KJ) capacitors in this group are designed for light duty. It has long life and low cost per joule. These are suitable for non-oscillatory discharge or voltage reversal upto 20%. Its applications include plasma research, welding equipment - specially of non-ferrous type, etc. Capacitors in this group are either all paper, mixed-dielectric or all plastic film type flat elements impregnated with suitable condensor oil. ESL is in three ranges- 1) 15nH to 60nH, 2) 61nH to 150nH and 3) above 150nH. We offer non-magnetic stainless steel case on special request. |

Group III : |
These are high voltage (upto 80kV), high energy (upto 5kJ) capacitors designed for heavy duty involving high peak current and upto 80% voltage reversal. Cleaning of large foundry casts, automatic welding equipments, metal forming equipment (magneform), utility thumpers (cable fault locators) are some of the applications. Construction is similar as per group II. No coaxial cables are offered. Tank is strong enough to withstand accidental discharge in short circuit of capacitor unit. |
