Low tension

Application –

1. Automatic or manual power factor control of a multi step LT capacitor bank.
2. Automatic or manual KVAR control of a multi step LT capacitor bank.

Features –

1. Capacitors in steps are mounted inside a panel.

Auto-manual control  -

1. Allows an automatic operation through a PF/KVAR sensing relay or a manual operation.
2. Maximum of 12 steps offered within a single panel.

Each step has a –

1. A mechanical contactor suitably de-rated for capacitor duty.
2. A time delay locking relay with one minute look in both the directions.
3. A switch fuse unit or an MCB properly derated.
4. An indicating lamp showing step in “ON”
5. Set of ON-OFF push buttons for mechanical operation.

The Display panel has –

1. An ammeter with selector switch showing capacitor bank current.
2. A voltmeter with selector switch showing capacitor bank voltages.
3. An APFC relay showing power factor.
4. Supply on indicating lamps.
5. Circuit breakers on indicating lamps.

A main circuit breaker – with a wide variety of a operating needs & of protective controls.

Current transformers on the incoming mains.

Terminal strip for CT leads from the installation supply CT.

Busbars & busbar supports to meet short circuit level not exceeding the SC level of transformer across which the capacitor bank is connected.

Degree of protection  -

Medium tension – 3.3, 6.6 & 11 kV

Application  -

Automatic Power Factor Controlling Panel
Similar to control panel under (A) above except that –

1. Each capacitor has a 6% series reactor
2. Contactors are vacuum type at rated voltages
3. No step isolators / switches are offered. Instead isolating sectional fuses are offered.
4. Main CB is of a vacuum type with its own protective control panel.
5. Identical to that under “C” which follows (This is optional in case this is on the main switch board room)
6. All the CT’s are at rated system voltage level.

Medium & Hight Tension - Outdoor Fixed Capacitor Banks

Application –

Control of Medium & high voltage capacitor banks

Features –

1. Protective controls – over voltage / inverse time relay operating off 110 V, 50 Hz AC, range **% to **%.
2. One neutral unbalanced current relay operating off the neutral CT between two matched halves of a star connected capacitor bank. OR
3. One neutral unbalanced voltage relay operating off the RVT secondaries of a start connected capacitor bank.
4. One supervisory trip control.
5. One time delay relay.

Display panel –

• Ammeter with selector switch
• Voltmeter with selector switch
• Power factor meter
• Indicating lamps – showing CB on & Isolator on.
