Current Transformer

Applications on low, medium & high voltage capacitor banks –

1. To read the incoming line currents

2. To trip the controlling CB in case of unbalanced line current

due to short grounding. The CT is designated here as CBCT.

3. To operate the neutral unbalanced current relay flowing through

the connected between two floating neutrals of two balanced

capacitor sub-banks.

Types of available –

Oil filled, dry type.

Standard current rating –

          Secondary

1. 5 Amps upto 11 kV system
2. 1 Amps on system with higher than 11 kV voltage

          Primary 

1. To be between 1.8 to 2 times the rated capacitor bank current. 

Standard voltage level –

LT – 440 V

HT - 3.3, 6.6, 11, 22 & 33 kV, 3 Ph

Standard VA rating –

5 VA & 10 VA

Class accuracy –

Metering 1%, Protection 1.5%
